In this day and age of constant movement of workforce, I am somewhat of a dinosaur. I've been working for Yellow Freight (now known as YRC) for a little over 20 years. It's a job I truly enjoy. The pay is decent, the benefits are excellent and I service businesses in which the workers are more like friends then customers.
I've found a video by Maria Aldemann of "what I do". The video is a little long. If you have a little time and a lot of patience, it's a perfect example of my normal work day.
Now realize a part of my early posts is learning and practicing posting with pictures and videos.

Hi ya Teamster. Sorry hubby and I missed you this weekend. We had a meeting concerning our island and a work party that takes place the first week of next month.
Love your blog. I'll put you in my Google reader so when you post new content I will know.
Have a terrific day. :)
Oh, hugs to you and K. :)
If you really like your job, who cares of it makes you somewhat of a dinosaur. Excellent benefits are hard to get, and you like your customers. Sounds like a win-win to me!
sandee...sorry we missed you too. Thanks for stopping by.
D.S...You're right...it is a win-win situation..especially in this environment of unemployment
Teamster's a dinosaur?? No, say it isn't so!
I must say, brother, you are a good writer. Didn't know you had it in you. =-)
I dealt with Yellow Freight in my old job. In the 20 years you've been with one company I've been with six.
dawn...thanks....this blog is a great platform to practice and post..
travis...hopefully yellow served you well and you're in a job you enjoy.
Now, are you A Teamster, or are you THE Teamster? Because if you're the only one, your union membership numbers are really down. Good Luck with the blog and the trip, Mr. Man. Cheers!!
Well, it actually looks more orange than yellow to me but that's probably my old eyes needing to adjust!
There is nothing wrong with being a dinosaur, especially if you're doing what dinosaurs like to do best and I think you are!
Let's see, how does that saying go?? ... oh yeah ... keep on truckin'!
Ummmm.....hows come Yellow looks orange?
I'm impressed, I must say. Dunno about you, but I see a whole lotta jobs now a days and not enough work.
Oh gosh.....I said that out loud, huh? LOL
matt...the teamster was suppose to sound like "da teamster" after the great saturday night live skits on "da bears"...unfortunately the unionized portion of the public sector has been shrinking...hopefully the "card check" law will benefit organizing..
thanks for checking out my blog
linda and mel...there is an explaination of the color in the video. It's a bit long, but pretty interesting (well...to me it is)..
k...what you didn't tell me was that the darn thing would get me teary.
Geeze.....what a proud kiddo.
And what a dad to be proud of.
And yup--I know why Yellow is orange now.
